| Jerome Burg is a veteran high school English teacher. His work with educational technology began when, as a new teacher, his principal gave him the choice of either chaperoning dances or becoming the advisor to the school newspaper. He had never studied journalism, but he had chaperoned a dance. Thus he became a pioneer of educational technology integration in the earliest days of desktop publishing. Since then, he has taught hundreds of educational technology workshops and presented at local and national educational conferences across the country. He likes to think of himself as a curriculum guy who happens to use technology. His current interests center around how technology can support solid pedagogy and professional practice in the 21st century. His Google Lit Trips project was recently named by the Asia Society as the co-recipient of the Goldman Sachs Foundation Prize for Excellence in International Education for Media and Technology. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Computer Using Educators, the largest educational technology organization in the western United States. He is an Apple Distinguished Educator, a Google Certified Teacher, and an Apple Professional Development consultant. | Make a World of Difference in Your Classroom with Google Lit Trips Google Lit Trips is a non-profit project bringing together the 21st century power of Google Earth with the wisdom of the ages found in great journey literature.
