| Placeholder for Lucy's bio | The State of Teaching and Learning in the 21st CenturyTen years into the new millennium, educators are still wrestling to define 21st century leayrning and teaching. What do all these buzzwords mean and what are the implications for how we teach and students learn? How can teachers make practical changes in their classrooms while still addressing state and national standards?
Mastery of reading, writing and arithmetic are not the only skills our students will need to be successful in today's world; they will need to develop a more sophisticated set of abilities than the rote memorization skills required of today's standardized tests. In her presentation, educational technologist and Apple Distinguished Educator Lucy Gray will share information on the 21st century skills movement and will inspire us to think of new ways to engage our students in the classroom.
