Melinda belives that technology is the tool that gives us the power to motivate, engage and empower ourselves and our students. As the director of Learning Technology Center 6 North, she works with three Regional Offices of Education and fifty school districts in southern Illinois to promote technology as a way to enhance what we are doing, not give us more to do. When Mindy is not wearing her Director hat, she serves as the President of ICE-SI, is a wife and mother to two 21st century learners, and runs a part time - photography studio out of her basement.

Capturing the Spirit of Your Classroom Digital photography has taken the lead as a form of media commonly used by our society, and digital images are now being used daily in student projects and teacher lessons. So many times we set out to capture a moment in a photograph, only to find ourselves asking “What did I do wrong?” This session will focus on ways that you can improve your own photos and will also provide ideas for the many ways that you can use digital images with your students. Come see how motivating projects enriched with digital photographs can lead to a whole new level of expression and engaged learning.
